When you win, the Lottery will send you a check.
If you win the top prize with a subscription, a Virginia Lottery representative will contact you with instructions on how to
claim your prize. If you win prizes $150 to $250,000 for Mega Millions OR
$30 to $52,000 for Win For Life, the Lottery will
mail you a check within three weeks of the drawing.
If you win $2, $3, $7 or $10 prizes in Mega Millions OR $2 during your subscription for Win For Life, you will receive
ONE check at the END of your subscription for the total of
those prizes.
What is a Virginia Lottery gift card?
This gift card costs $26 and is sold at Rite Aid stores while supplies last. After purchase and activation by the store cashier, this card can be used to pay for a $26 subscription (13 weeks/26 draws) to Mega Millions or Win for Life. Gift cards can be used to buy subscriptions by visiting the Virginia Lottery Web site - www.valottery.com/play. Gift cards cannot be redeemed at Lottery retail locations.
Why are gift cards not sold at all Lottery retailers?
This is a test program, only Rite Aid stores will sell the gift cards.
Do I have to live in Virginia to buy a gift card?

You may redeem a gift card if you have a valid Virginia mailing address.
I already have a subscription. Can I use a gift card to extend my subscription?
Gift cards can not extend the date of an existing subscription. If you are already a web registered subscription member you can use your existing membership to purchase a new subscription with this gift card.
My gift card will not be accepted for payment for a subscription. What should I do?
